DUNEDIN REGATTA.
A number of gentlemen met in the Athenaeum Hall on Saturday evening to consider matters in connection with the annual regatta.
The Mayor, who was in the chair, Raid that if the Port Chalmers Regatta was held on the day appointed it would clash with the Waihola Regatta and the Fire Brigades' demonstration, which were fixed for the same day. He read a letter from Captain Thomson, who suggested that the regatta should be held at the Port, and thus secure the cooperation of the residents there.
Mr Street disapproved of the date of the Port regatta, and moved "That the annual regatta be held at the end of February or the beginning of March, the days to be fixed by the Regatca Committee." This was seconded by Mr Fuller, and carried.
The Chairman proposed, and Mr Hart seconded, "That the regatta be held at Port i/halmers.''
Mr Fuller moved, as an amendment, That the regatta be held at St. Leonards." Thw was seconded by Mr Street, and, after some discussion, carried. The following resolutions were carried :
