[Pes Sdbmat'ihz Cable.] ■ 3&oaped Communists. Stdhet, November 17.—From Noumea it is reported that twelve Communists seized the steam launch and put out to sea.' They were overtaken liy a war vt-ssel. Ten were recaptured and two jumpod overboard and ware drowned. [PSB PBJBBB AOKSOT.] Italian Immigrants. Wellington, November 17.—A deputation of six Italian immiirran*a waited on the Italian Consul this Bomiui,' *nd stated that they and many of their countrymen were in a starving state, as they could obtain no employment. They stated they were allowed to sleep at the Immigration Depot, but had to find their own food, and, as they had no money, they had to go without food. The Colsul replied that the Italian Goverement. did not authorise him to afford them any relief, and advised them to represent their case to the Premier. They did so, and the Premier told them they could remain and would be fed a Short time longer in the depot, until work was found for them or they wero scat up-country. The Rangitoto Silver Mine. Hokttika, November 17.—Mr A. Leslie reports that the company have three tunnels—one 60ft, carTying defined veins of ore, averaging 18in wide; and ono 10ft, in one large vein, nearly 4ft thick. He considers all Uiese lodes highly payable. One large vein, visible from the outcrop, will yield over 400oz of silver to tho ton of ore. The ore from the 35ft tunnel will give the b/gh yeld of 708oz to the ton. About 12 tons are pad docked, which will give all round a yield of 400oz of silver to the ton. Lodes appear to improve in riohness at greater depths. 11 p considers the mine equal, if not superior, to the Californian mines. Shares are scarce; L 3 premium. '
