Mr Solomon’s pawnbroking shop, in Hattray street, was to-day about noon the scene of an uncommon accident, it appears that a two-horse dray, owned by Messrs Royse, Stead, and Co., was g> ing past, when by some means the horses broke from restraint and plunged with great violence into Mr Polotnoira shop, carrying away the verandah posts and completely demolishing the front of the establishment, besides breaking some glass in the window of the adjoining boot shop, “ A bull in a china shop ” is proverbially a deebuolive animal, but a horse in a pawnbroker’s shop cannot be much less so if wo may judge by the present occurrence; for watches, jewellery, and other valuables were strewn about in the greatest confusion.
