THE POLITICAL SITUATION.
Messrs Robin, Barnes, Sligo, Sibbald, St»ut, Turnbull, M'Donald, M'Dermid, aud others waited upon his Honor the Superintendent at ten o clock this morning to present him with a resolution passed last night, assuring him that the Association would give him its hearty rid and support in all measures he might deem necessary to protect the interests and revenues of the Province ; and to request him to protest against, and to resist in as far as lies in his power, any interference with its affairs as they now exist till he is advised by the Convention called for the special purpose of considering the present political position of affairs. His Honor stated that he was greatly gratified at receiving the expression of sympathy conveyed in the resolution, and promised that he Wv.uld do his best to comply with its terms.
