The following is a return of the value ot exports from the principal ports of New Zealand during the quarter ended 30th September last, with the return for the corresponding quarter of last year :

The totals for the quarter from all ports is L 581,997, as against 1737,891 for the corresponding quarter of the previous year, leaving a deficit of L 183,894. Th« value of imports for the quarter ended 30 hj September, for the principal ports, with the amount for the corresponding quarter of the previous year, is as follows : ,«-„ Auckland. This makeo a reduction in our imports of 1.274 030, as compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous yjar.

Tiio value of the exports from the principal ports .of the Colony during the past quarter is set down as follows:—Auckland. LllO 571; Wellington, L2 332; LyHeltm, L' 215,002 ; Dunedm, LI 17,479. Total exports for the qur.rter, L 581.797, as against L 757.891 for the corresponding period of last year. The imports are stated as follows :-~Auckland L 371.752; Wellington, L 355.982; Lvttelton, L 322.084; Dunedin, L 436.437. Total imports for the quarter, L 1,707,207, as against L 2,041,237 for the corresponding quarter of last year.
