THE FIRE BRIGADES' DEMONSTRATION.

Mr Robertson, Secretary to the Fire Brigade Demonstration Committee, this morning received a reply from the Timaru| Fire Brigade acquainting him of their intention to take part in the proposed demonstration on Boxing Day. Captain Wildie writes \ — "I am in receipt of your favors of the 27th ult. and 11th inst. enclosing programmes of demonstration to be held in Dunedin on the 26th December next, and in reply to your kind invitation beg to inform you that the Timaru Brigade have passed a resolution to the effect that a team will be sent to compete on the occasion referred to." Now that two New Zealand teams have stated their intention of taking part in the affair, it is to be hoped that Christchurch and the other Metropolitan Brigades will not admit of unnecessary de • lay in answering the circulars forwarded to them.
