IMMIGRATION.
The Timaru's immigrants wctc open for engagement at the aversbam D-pot yesterday, ana a number of hirings were effected by Mr Colin Allau. The demand was principally for female servan tv, who found employment at the following rates:—Five at L 26 per annum; eight at LSO; two at LSS; one nurse at Ll6. Of the males five were employed as farm servants at LSO; one at L 5 2; one at L 5 5; one at L 6 6; one at L4O. Five ploughmen received 20s each. The remainder of the immigrants may be engaged to-morrow.
