BILLIARDS.
M. CARME'S BILLIARD EXHIBITIONS.
M. Carme gave his third exhibition at the Princess's Theatre billiard-saloon last evening, conceding 500 points oat of 800 to M. Tondut, a local amateur, who is possessed of a considerable amount of skill at the French game. Tondut broke the balls and made two 8 breaks, but Carme soon got them together, and ran up 38, 28, and a finely played 84; and the game was called 532—156. Small contributions on either side then became the rule, Tondut making many difficult strokes, but still being unable to compile a large break. Carme then added to his score 34, 44, and a magnificent run of 116. (Loud applause.) 570—396. Tondut not troubling the scorer to any great extent, Carme continued scoring rapidly, running up breaks of 38, 38, and 36. Tondut, who made a much better show than M. Carme's previous antagonists, then skilfully manipulated the balls until he had amassed a break of 20, for which he was deservedly applauded. 598 —528. Carme replied with 84, 40, and 46; and Tondut, after several small runs, played a pretty 16. 644—666. Carme in his next essay made a break of 52, almost immediately followed with 54; and Tondut contributed 6 and 10. The game now stood at 660—798, and Carme finished it with his next stroke. 660—803. The time occupied was as follows:—First hundred, 13min.; second, 11 min.; third, 12 1/2 min.; fourth, 7 1/2 min.; fifth, 6min; sixth, 9 1/2 min.; seventh. 12 1/2 min.; eighth, 8 1/2 min.; total, 1 hr. 20 1/2 min. At the conclusion of the game M. Carme gave some of his best fancy strokes, which were much appreciated. Most of them were done at the first attempt. The bell and pipe cannons caused the usual amount of amusement, and the bottles and nine balls trick was greatly admired. This evening the last match will be played, M. Carme "giving Mr A. Cameron 600 points out of 800 and a close match should ensue.
