THE FIRE BRIGADES' DISPUTE.
The * Evening Post* says that the controversy between the W< lliugton and Dunedin Brigades has become very w. arisome. Dunedin continues carefully to ignore this important point; Is it, or is it not, true that they, after agreeing to amalgamate with Wellington, refused in the full competition to assist Wellington, who nevertheless won the Cup without the assistance agreed to be rendered by Dunedin P This is what Wellington asserts, and until Dunedin meets that charge, they may as well bo silent on the subject, for they come out of the matter very badly.
