The topsail schooner Pori, with a full cargo of timber from Kaipara, arrived yesterday forenoon, and passed up to Dunedin with a light N.E. brroze. She left Kaipara on the 27th ult. The s.s. Wanganui arrived from the Bluff at noon yesterday, and steamed alongside the ship William Davie to discharge cargo. The steamers Shag, from Shag Point, and Samsom, from Oamarn, arrived on Saturday afternoon and passed the Port to Dunedin,

The schooner Excelsior, with a cargo of timber from Havelock, arrived yesterday afternoon. She left Pelorus Sound on Thursday. Mess s M'Meckan and Blackwood’s s.s. Otago, from Sydney, via Coast ports, arrived at 0.45 p.m. yesterday. She left Sydney at 6 p.m. on the 27th ult., experienced fine weather across, and arrived off Hokitika at 1 p.m. on the 2nd inst. Landed passengers and cargo, and proceeded on to Greymouth next morning; called also at Nelson, We.llington, and Lyttelton. We thank Mr Birch (purser) for report and exchange-.:. The Otago took her departure again this afternoon for Mel bourne, via the Bluff and Hobart Town. The s.s. Eashy, from Sydney, via Wellington, arrived alongside the railway pi r at 8.30 this morning. She brings 1,400 tons of coal and eleven cedar logs. Captain Kennedy i eports leaving ■sydncy on the 29th ult., carried easterly winds right across, and arrived at Wellington on the 6th inst. • discharged cargo, and left again at ~oon on the 7th, and had fine weather along the coast to arrival. Wo thank Captain Kennedy for report and Sydney exchanges. The s.s. Wellington,from Northern Ports, arrived alongside the railway pior at 9 a.m. yesterday, under the con mand of her chief officer. Captain M'Crfte, Captain Carey having been promoted to tbo s.s. Taupo. The Wellington left the Monukau at 7 a.m. on the 3rd inst., and called at Taranaki, Nelson, Picton, and Wellington. She steamed up to Dunedin on the flood tide yesterday afternoon. W- - thank Mr M'Cormick (purser) fer report and exchanges. Ts. ■ s.s. Waitaki, having been cleaned and recoated, was taken out of the Graving Dock this I morning and towed to the dolphin at Carey Bay for tho purpose of having her compasses adjusted.
