Drunkenness. - Kate Farra, charged with this offence, was dismissed, bhe was then charged with assaulting John M'Laren on the previous day.—lnspector Mallard explained that the police took no action in this matter.—lnformant stated that a few minutes before the accused was arrested he was going along the street when she made a dive at him and assaulted him. She was incited by the crowd to assault him, and the more tLiey incited her the more outrageous her conduct oecame. He believed that her insulting him was the causo of her being locked up.—Mr Ramsay: Are you acquainted with her '—Witness : I don't know her from Eve. Neglected Child.—Mary Turner was sent to the Industrial School for five years aa a neglected child.
