CORPORATION FIRING PRACTICE.
To the Editor. 818, —This morning as one of Mr Anderson's waggons was being driven through the T«wn Belt to the mill, the driver was placed fat danger of his life through the quarrying •Derations now being conducted on the xewn Belt. A Bhower of stones of someuhat startling dimensions suddenly fell apon him and his horses, eausing, at least, a tfcmaiderable fright, a blast having been i*ed off without any warning being given to sjftßSjj by. There was a case sometime agp broHght by the police against the pronfttter of a quarry for a similar offence. ■Will any aotiee b« taken of this? Are the fwr makers to be the law breakers ? Pray, M». Editor, is this conserving the Town Salt, or can this be the Corporation's notion #f the Tewn Belt's being a place of recreation ? This is not a solitary case, as it has •eeurred before.—l am, &c,
A Resident of Woodhaugii, Dunedin, September 29.
