POET CHALMERS. ARRIVED. September 28.—Ladybird, s.s., 286 tons, Andrew from the North. Passengers: Captain Essen, Messrs Wymond, Cameron, Stoddart, and nine steerage. September 29.—Jessie, ketch, 29 tons, Lynders, from Waikouaiti, put in. SAILED. September 28.—Lloyd's Herald, ketch, 48 tons, Kerns, for Catlin's Biver. September 29.—Samson, p.s., 124 tons, Edie, for Oamaru. The p.s. Samson sailed this morning for her usuai trip to Oamaru. The s.s. Ladybird, from Northern Ports, arrived at 4.20 p.m. yesterday, and proceeded alongside the William Davie to discharge cargo. She left Onebunga at 3 p.m. on the 23rd, Taranaki at 8 a.m. on the 24th, Nelson at noon of the 25th, Picton at midnight, Wellingtsn at 3 p.m. on the 26th, and Lyttelton at 3 p.m. on the 27th. She then called at Akaroa, leaving there at 10.30 p.m. Eeports passing a barque off Oamaru running with a light N.W. wind. The Ladybird having transhipped her cargo to the William Davie steamed up to Dunedin this forenoon to take in cargo, and win leave again on Monday for Northern Ports.
