On the adjourned application of Hanlon and Kelcber to purchase land in the Leaning Rock district coming on for reconsideration, complaint was made ny Mr Denniston of the delay that had taken place, which it was explained arose from the absenae from town of Messrs Green and M'Kellar; and that the papers, without which the Chairman said the Board could do nothiug, were either with Mr M ‘Kellar or locked up in his box in the Government offices here. After some discussion, in which the vicarious action of the Government was commented upon, the following resolution was agreed to :—“ Further adjourned for a week ; the Government to be communicated with, requesting that the papers may be returned to the Board with any suggestion the Government may desire to make. Several adjournments have now been granted at the instance of the Government, and Messrs Hanlon and Kelcher, through their solicitor, complain of further delay, and press for a decision.”
