TESTIMONIAL TO MR HYMAN.
To the Editor. ■ Sin, —I observe in your local columns of Monday a notification to the effect that the Jewish community are about taking steps to present our respected fellow-citizen, Mr Julius Hyman, with a testimonial previous to his departure for the old country. The l-reemasons, with which body he has long been connected, ore taking similar steps. As one who has had the pleasure of Mr Hyman's friendship during his residence amongst us for the past thirteen years, 1 would suggest that, if a committee is appointed to carry out the above object, their efforts will not be confined to the Jewish as I am sure there are many of our who would be glad to contribute to such a testimonial, in order to show their respect to Mr Hyman and regret at his departure from the Colony. Hoping that this suggestion will be acted upon by those interesting themselves in this.—l am, &c, CrnzKN. Dunedin, September 20.
