SOUTH DUNEDIN MUNICIPALITY.
To the Editor. fittt, —Having complained to the members iff East Ward on several occasions about the touiaance caused by the tar emptied from the 6m Works, which floats over the Ward, and «a yet no effort having been made to abate 1 am compelled it to bring it under public fcotiee through your columns. As usual, the whole of the ditches this morning are completely full, the gas manager taking the seerecy of thenightto accomplish the dark deed. I ean assure you, sir, that with stagnant water lying on the site of the manure depflt and likewise being surrounded with coal-tar, my butcher's account will be extinguished and a medical account established in its stead of considerable amount, the disbursing of which will fall on either Corporation. The abominable practice of the City Gasworks distributing their refuse tar through the municipality, demands immediate action t>ft the part of the City Council of Dunedin. —I am, &c, Sttfferer.
