CANTERBURY AND WELLINGTON AT FOOTBALL.

This match took place at the Hutt yesterday, play commencing at three o'clock. Wellington scored first the half point and the third, Canterbury winning all the' rest. The ground was in Bplendid condition, but lumpy, and the weather fine but rather windy. The Governor was present. At 3.20, second half tub, Canterbury scoring half point. 3.30,' Canterbury getting the bast of it, rapeatedly scoring; score standing— Canterbury, Wellington 1; when OUivier scored a down for Canterbury. A goal was kicked at 3.50, and the score stood—Canterbury 19, Wellington 1. For Wellington, Park, James Thomson, and Smith were playing well, and Cotterill's drop kicking was very effective for Canterbury. " __________»«_■___
