A THRILLING SCENE.

There she sat for some time in a semi-nude condition, until the boys in the neighborhood espied her, when they at once commenced to stone the unfortunate creature, who, in retaliation, loosened and hurled them at her revilers, at the same time pouring forth a torrent of insane expressions upon -them. The woman’s condition became every moment more critical, and the police were summoned to drive off Uie boys and rescue her from a horrible death, for'one false step would have hurled her into the street below. Eventually a fire-escape was procured, and ten of the members of the M division mounted to the housetops, and, after a most fight, and struggle, lasting half-an-ho.ur, managed to secure the wretched creature, wdio was safely • lowered to the'ground, strapped upon a stretcher, .and, copyeyed to the police station. The scene may be better imagined than described.
