SCHOOLMASTERS’ ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the above association was held this morning. Mr Montgomery occupied the chair, and there was a numerous attendance. Mr Fitzgerald submitted suggestions for a reconstruction of the Association, so that other than certificated teachem may become members. Discussion on the matter was adjourned till the approaching quarterly meeting. A letter was received from Mr Young, of Wellington, intimating that the teachers of that Province intend establishing a newspaper in the interest* of teachers generally, ana trusting that the Otago schoolmasters would become shareholders in the same. Consideration of tho letter was also adjourned rill the quarterly meeting.
