THE LAND TRANSFER ACT.
The foUowingare the. new clauses moved by Mr Waterhouse, for insertionln the Land Transfer Act Amendment Bill:
No contribution shall be payable >to assurance fund upon .first .bringing laud under the said Act bv giant £rom toeOown, nor upon first bringing land under the said Act,~upon application of the proprietor thereof, if in such last mentioned case it shall appear to the District Land Registrar and Examiner of! Titles for the district within which such land is situated, that the npplicantproprietor is the original grantee from.the Crown, and that no sale, contract, mortgage, incumbrance, bt■'other transaction affecting the title of lauoh applicant proprietor has been at anytime registered. Tho provisions of the Conveyancing Ordinance Amendment Act, 1860, and of the Bates- by; Jttortgages Act, 1870, shall not extend er apply te mortgages created, or to be created, under the provisions of the said Act. •"' -o ; . t .rc-a
It shall be lawful -for the Governor, if in his cjpinion the circumstances-of any land registration district shall so require, to appoint the District Land .Registrar of such district, if a bar. lister or solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, to be also Examiner of Titles in and for the same district, and any person so appointed may hold thaetid Offices iwnjointly iilyat.ifixr no district ,Aereafter to be-formed shall -ithe twoxjfflces of rßemstrar of Land and Examiner ef Titles" J»e neld by theeame person. -->- - •->"•' ■'> - ! &=- Any person who, not being the holder of a license as a-land.broker under thevsajiLAet, or or*TOxtiflcatetheriin force T to. the-,effeot that he is oh the rolls of the Supreme "Court as a barrister or soneitor theyedf; shall transact busmtfsY'under the'saYd-Act or aholl wilfully and faVselyjpretend to be entitled to transact such business shall for-each such offence forfeit and pay a penalty not exceeding fifty pounds.
