London, August 18. To-day L 75,000 Napier Harbor 7 per cent, debentures were subscribed for at 100 to 103. The Crown has given an opinion relative to Fiji land disputes, ensuring a speedy settlement. 180,000 bales of wool have been bought for expork New Zealand wheat, 44s to 475. Arrived. Sydney, August 28. The 'Frisco mail left San Francisco on the 16th. A quantity of new and valuable jewellery was found in the possession of the men arrested aboard the Somersetshire. August 29. ftThe Chrysolite colt is not so firm for the Derby, though he is still fi;sb favorite, Sailed : Easby, s.s., for Wellington. Melbourne, August 29. Whitney, Chambers, and Co., ironmongers, have suspended payment, with liabilities estimated at L 50,000. A private telegram from New York reports a further rise in kerosene.
