CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of this Board: was held in th« School-house last evening, when there were present Messrs Rutherford (in the chair) Bridgman, Langmuir, Jackson, Wilson, apd U'Ken. This being the adjourned annual meeting of the Board Mr.Rutherford was re-elected chairman and Mi Bridgman treasurer, and Mr Johu Cameron clerk, collector, and assessor for the current year.—The Inspector was authorised to form a pipe drain from Manse street to the ereek adjoining op. the Corstorphine road so as to take off the water from said street.-A letter was read from the Caledonian Society offering fco convey the street lines on their property at Kensington to the Board on terms to be mutually agreed upon, Mr TJ'Ren being appointed to arrange matters.—A special meeting of the Board was afterwards held, when the Chairman explained that now the Board having got the Forbury road and a part of St. Kilda road proclaimed main district roads, the Board was in a position to proceed to borrow. Mr U'tten thereupon pratposed, and Mr Bridgman seconded the following resolution:—"That the Board borrow L 2,000 on the security of general rates," which was agreed to. This money .when borrowed will be allocated to the several wards in the district according \o the amount of rates in each ward when the valuatic n is taken for this year.
