THE FIRE BRIGADE DISPUTE.
The Wellington Brigade held a meeting this morning, and decided that they could not compete with the Dunedin Brigade for the Ballarat Cup, but will inform them that they are prepared to engage in a friendly contest for another cup of any value fixed, at from L 5 to L6O. The Dunedin Brigade will be communicated with by telegram today. If Dunedin send precisely the samo team as was at Ballarat, Wellington will not change the old team ; but if the Dunedin is changed, Wellington . will select those who are thought to be her best team.
