The Arawata arrived at 11 a.m. She left Melbourne on the 14th; passed Goose Island next day; experienced light variable winds until the 18th, when a north-east gale was encountered with high sea and thick weather; she was not able to put up to the land and hove-to till daylight this morning. Passengers : For Dunedin—Meters Newey, F. Deanß, SnelL O'Donnell, Murphy, Stobo, Brown; Mesdameß Armstrong, Cooper, Brown, and Grant; Misses Grant and Blew ; fifteen in the steerage ; and 150 tons cargo. She sails at 4 p.m. for Dunedin.
