RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Friday, August 18. (Before J. Bathgate, Esq., R.M.)

Judgment was given for plaintiffs in the following cases with costs: Murray v. Hope, L 3 4s goods supplied; Hill v. W. P. Baiter, L 6 work done; K. Smith v. W. H. Murray, L 4 15s 2d goods supplied; Reid v. M'Cormack, 19s 6d one week’s rent of cottage and for damage to lock. Patterson v. Edward Towsey.—Claim of L 22 on a judgment summons for servant’s wages. - Defendant wrote offering to pay L2 per month.—His Worship stated that defendant should have instructed some one personally to appear on his behalf. - Mr Bathgate, for plaintiff, agreed to accept an offer on the terms stated.—An order was accordingly made for the payment of the amount in monthly instalments of L2, in default of any payment fourteen days’ imprisonment, and the whole unpaid balance to revive. The date of the first payment was fixed for this day week.
