POST OFFICE NOTICE
MAILS CLOSE. SeDTHUXD AND AUSTRALIAN COLONIES. Per Otago, on Wednesday, August 16, at 1.50 p.m. British and other mails, via San Francisco, will close at this office on the 23rd iust. Two steamers nave been chartered to run with tel grains between Penang and Rangoon. One leaves Petiang on the evening of the 15th, the oth r about four days later, and will remain in Bangoon thirty-si* hours for replies, and eight hours in Penang.
