The ‘Chronicle’ mentions that the Maerewhenua Miners Association are bestirring themselves, and that Mr T. Smith, one of their oldest miners, is now in Naseby with a memorial to be forwarded to the General Government, setting forth the difficulties and the harrassing litigation the Maerewhenua miners have been subjected to in pursuing their avocation, and praying the Government to legalise pollution of nvers through goldmining.
