Wellington, August 4." : In the Legislative Council yesterday, The Hon. Colonel Whitmore's motion for adjournment of the Council for fourteen days, lapsed in his absence. '

He moved that the Commissioners should be called to the Bar of the House to " explain. A debate ensued, which was, by the carting vote of the Speaker, adjourned till the next sitting day. , The Council adjourned till Tuesday.
