Her husband had been lost at sea, and she was not able to do hard work, as she had lost the use of one of her sides. Inspector Mallard stated thirt the woman came to the Police Station hit night in a wretched condition. She had npt tasted food for two days, and he thought it a charity to have herwants supplied and lodging previded for the night.
