M'Ewan, alsb a - lochl settler, won a L3O prize and a set of presented Messrs -Reid itod' Gitey, being first in the : double furrow competition. Fite' hundred were on the ground from all parts of the country, ploughmen coming Trom Tofcomairiro, Clutha, Southland, and other places. A dikiher was held at- the Commei*cial Hotel in the-evening, at which the prises were presented,
