THE MAYORAL ELECTION.
To the Editor Slß,—The reply of “Justice’s” letter, of the 20th, reviewing mine, is simply absurd. I never insinuated anything about either of the gentlemen’s monetary positions, nor could any person possessed of a millionmagnifying microscope discern the faintest allusion to it.
It is a device of the enemy, no doubt, emanating from one of the nightly soirees cf lions. No man has a right to wag his pen untruthfully, for he knows not the evil of it.: And, sir, i would respectfully suggest that the Fire Brigade be held in readiness to Suoll any signs of an outbreak, so ardently esired by. “ Justice.” Also, that his friends <lo keep an eye on him,—l am, &'c., T. I/. B. ; ,Dunedin, July 31.
