The schooner liable Jane, with a cargo of timber from I’elorus Sound for Waikouaiti, arrived yesterday afternoon, and passed the Port to Dunedin with a fresh N.E. breeze, itho left the Sound on the 26th. icst,, and bad N, and N,E. winds to ar* rival.
The barque James Hannell, having been stripped and caulked, was taken out of the Graving Dock yesterday, when the s.s. Taiaroa took her place for the purpose of being cleaned and recoated with anti-fonling composition. The Albion Company’s ship William Davie was removed from the stream by the tug Geelong yesterday, and berthed at the railway pier to discharge.
The three-masted schooner Argosy, with cargo for Auckland, was towed down from Dunedin yesterday by the tug Geelong, and anchored at the port in readiness to sail with the first slant of wind.
The Union Company’s steamer Ladybird, with cargo and passengers for Timarn, sailed last night. The p.s. Samson, with cargo and passengers, sailed for Oamoru this morning. The schooner Jessie Nicol, for the Bluff, sailed down from Dunedin this morning, and anchored below the shipping. The Union Company’s steamer Wellington steamed down from Dunedin this forenoon, and berthed alongside the railway pier. After embarking her passengers she took hsr departure this afternoon for Northern porta. The Albiou Company’s fine ship Wellington took her departure this afternoon for London, beiug towed clear of the land by the tug Geelong. She takes twenty-nine passengers, and the following cargo:—l.s76 bales of wool, 121 cases, 5C6 casks tallow, 20 bags bones and horns, 6,025 cases meats, 5,661 sacks wheat, 35 cases sundries, and four boxes of gold, of the total value of L75.2G8.
