ELECTIONS FOR COUNCILLORS.
DUNEDIN. There being a contest f -r Councillors in Leith Ward only, the proceedings in the City to-day were unusually dull as compared with previous elections. Some interest, however, was manifested in the election for Auditors, for which there five candidates. In Leith Ward two Councillors had to be elected, and at the north end of the town the usual activity was displayed. The result of the polling was declared to be : Beeves 247 Grant 202 Wilkinson 109 Messrs Beeves and Grant were accordingly declared duly elected.
