ABOUT THE LOBBIES.
(From our Special Correspondent.) Wellington, August 1. Karaitiana has taken his seat for the Eastern Maori District, the Government facilitating the adoption of the Committee’s report.
The Government intend making a searching inquiry into the cause of the accident at the Brunner Railway Bridge. It is admitted by the department either that the cables were faulty or that there was an error in the calculations for the bridge, which will cost Ll,ooo to repair. There are no other bridges In the Colony built on the same plan.
The Premier promises that on Thursday he ’will answer Mr Stout’s question re the Museum at Dunedin.
