Seven of the delinquents were dismissed, as some had been locked up since Saturday night, and others their hrst offence, while tire other (Richard Williams) was fined ss, with the usual hltornative, he having been somewhat disorderly. Ax Unpleasant Neighbor. Hannah Cox v. Catherine Rip. 'lbis was an application to have the defendant bound, over to keep the peace. —Mr Bathgate appeared for the complainant, and related the circum stances, from which it appeared that the complainant’s husband had purchased a section in front of defendant’s on the Caversham road. Last Monday complainant, with a child in her arms, was met outside by defendant, when the latter said, “As sure as you have that child in your arms, I will chop your head off some day.”' Complainant merely said, “You are a bad woman,” and proceeded to the back o.f the house to feed a pigr On returning to the house she was again met by her tormentor with the question, “ Is that where you keep your beau ?” These and other remarks were ■ indulged in by defendant, but never on occasions when the husband or anyone else was present.— The defendant denied the statements made by complainant, which led to Mr Bathgate producing a witness to show the credibility of his client’s evidence.—Their Worships found it necessary to have defendant bound over to keep the peace for six months, in her own recognisance of L2O and two sureties of LlO each, or one surety of L2O.
