TJBLIC NOTICE is Hereby Give* that owing te the fact that on the 21st inst. tqual nuuaber of votes were recorded as , viz—for Charles Stephen Reeves And William Woodlands, A FRESH ELECTION will take place, as provided by the Otago Municipal Cor orations Ordinances. The Nomination of Candidates for the office of Mayor of Dunedin, for the year endißg Augußt Ist, 1877, will be declarec on Saturday, the 29th July inst., at the Ten of the Provincial Council Chambers, Water treet, at the hour of 12 o'clock noon. Nominations, in form of Schedule D, of the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865, can be lodged at the Town Clerk's Office, Manse street (where blank forms may be had), on or before noon of the day herein fixed for the declaration.

There being no opposition in South, High, and Bell Wards, the following Candidates were declared duly elected:— South Ward.—Henry Smith Fish, jun., and John Tonkin Roberts. High Ward. —Barnard Isaac and Henry John Walter. Bell Ward.—John Bryce Thomson and William Woodland.

The following candidates were nominated as Auditors for the City:— William Oram Ball, of Princes street Frederick Horatio Evans, of Princes street Sydney James, of Princes street James Pirbeck M'Culloch, of Princes street Frank Pell, of Princes street. There being more th<vn two candidates for the Counoillorships for Leith Ward, and more than two candidates for election to the offices of City Auditors, all further proceedings as regards these elections were adjourned until Tuesday, August 1,1876, when a poll will be taken in each of the four Wards for the election of two Auditors; and in Leith Ward, for the election of two Coun«*illors. Hours of polling from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Polling-places will be : South Ward.—The Sailors' Home, Princes street south. High Ward.—The Fire Brigade Station, corner of High and Rattray streets.
