THE POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

~ . To the Editor. ■ ■" 8m, —The letter of your correspondent "ABreeder" is evidently the effusion of '■00.6 of malcontents who are ever ready to give vent to "a snarl at the efforts of those Tfhose actions are taken with the hofcoßt •bhvieffion that, for the beat and trill tend further to promote the end in view. Permit me to set your correspondent right in regard to a few matters. " Wright's Poultry Book" is now gener-ally-accepted as an improvement on Teget-

mier, therefore should the Dunedin Association continue to use a standard which in. most other places has been declared somewhat, out of date ? The effect of their doing so would be to prevent exhibits being sent either to or from Dunedin, as in each ease it is obvious the birds so sent would be judged at a disadvantage. "A Breeder " can scarcely say that due notice of the change of standard has not been given—although indirectly. Last year the committee made an effort in the same direction, and although no change was effected, it was pretty generally understood amongst fanciers that such a ohange would be made this year, and those who were wise prepared accordingly. In conclusion, I am sorry "A Breeder" has suffered annoyance and expense in importing "the best possible breeds from the Old Country, Victoria, &c." I can only say that his importations must be rather old, and it is quite time he waa alive to the fact that improvements 'have since been made, and that the Dunedin Association is desirous of keeping pace with other .places'.—l am, &c, '■'.. ■<..'.. .
