Archdeacon Edwards then moved that the society, as at present constituted, fee dissolved, He thought there should be a reconstruction of the society. Eventually the motion was withdrawn, and one carried that the meeting adjourn sine, die, and that the committee be requested to make immediate arrangements for the fourth concert of the season. Thomson, appointed to inquire into the present unsatisfactory state of the Society, suggested several alterations in the basis and constitution of the Society. The principal of these were that the present society be dissolved and constituted afresh on a new basis; that the President and the two "Vice-Presidents shall hold office during life, or until resignation; and all the property of the Society shall be vested in them as trustees j that the affairs of the Society shall be managed by a committee of nine members (fire to form a quorum), to "be elected at the annual meeting, and who shall elect from their own number a Secretary, Treasurer, and librarian ; that there shall be a Musical Conductor appointed by and responsible to the oommittee; and that rules 5 to 13 of the present Society remain unaltered.
