INQUEST.
An inquest was held at Mosglel yesterday, before Mr J. Fulton, 8.M., and a jniy. tonching the death of John Euesel Young, aged thirty, engine cleaner at Stirling railway station, who was killed on the 13tb inst. The evidence of John Dunbar, engine driver) Owen Horne, fireman; Lawrence Barclay, porter ; and John Simpson, station master, was .taken, and a verdict of .** Accidental death " was recorded. From the testimony given it appeared that toe deceased was of his own free will assisting toe porter to shunt two trucks laden with timber, and had uncoupled toe tracks from toe train while in motion, after giving the customary signal train to go ahead. Through some unexplained cause he lost his balance and fell in front of the tracks, the foremost wheel of one of which passed over his body. Deceased leaves a wife and four children, who reside near Mosgiel.
