TLo steamers 100, from Fort Molyneux, and Shag, from Shag Point, via Moerald, arrived yesterday afternoon and steamed past the Fort to Dunedin. The Union Company’s steamer Wellington came down from Dunedin this morning and steamed alongside the railway pier. After taking in oarge she embarked her passengers and took her depar. ture this afternoon tor Northern ports. The local whaling barque Splendid took her departure thin morning on another whaling cruise, being towed elear of the land by the tug Geelong. She leaves with a double crew en board, part of which will be landed at the Maoquaries for sealing and sea elephant-hunting during tbe ensuing seasen, and the barque will then cruise off tbe Solander*.
