The local whaling barque Splendid took her departure thin morning on another whaling cruise, being towed elear of the land by the tug Geelong. She leaves with a double crew en board, part of which will be landed at the Maoquaries for sealing and sea elephant-hunting during tbe ensuing seasen, and the barque will then cruise off tbe Solander*.
