The amount of revenue received at the Customhouse on goods cleared for consumption this day was 11,202 16s 7d.

Mr Henry Driver (on behalf of the N.Z.L. and M.A. Co.) reports for tho week ending July 12, 1876:

Fat Cattle.—The market to-day was short supplied with 120 head, chiefly good to prime qua-, lity; and as the trade was somewhat out of beef,' the bidding was brisk, a decided improvement iu price being obtained. Best pens of bullocks brought from Ll2 10s to Ll6 7s 6d : do cows, LlO 10S#L15.

Fat Sheep.—l,6oo came forward, and although this may be considered a short supply, the prices obtained scarcely came up to last week’o.quotations. "Wo quote best crossbreds at 12s 6d to 15s 9d, or hardly 3d per lb. Store Cattle.—We have no alteration to report, but would draw attention to the su'd of 200 head at Mosgiel to-morrow, 13th inst. Store Sheep.—No business to note.

NFW ZEALAND INSUEANCE COMPANY.

Auckland, July 12.—The report and, balancesheet of the New Zealand Insurance Co. will be presented at the meeting of shareholders this afternoon. The directors will submit the 81st report, with audited accounts, for the .half-year ending’ May 1, Tlie net amount received premium accounts for the half rear is 1.92,277; losses paid and outstanding, L 66.700: amount received for interest, rent, etc., L 8.772; profit for the half year, including L7,2.'!9’ brought forward from last half-year, after providing for all unadjusted claims L 40.077, which the directors have appropriated as follows A dividend at the rate of 20 per cent, per annum, L 18.777; re-insurance fund, L 15,000, which wnl then stand at L 33.000; carned forward L'i,-09. The directors inform the original shareholders that the who e of the now shares offered to the public having been disposed of will enable the accounts of the old company to bo closed. There will probably be a balance of 29s per original suave divisible amongst the old shareholders, and payable in the course of the current half-year. The dividend is payable, at Auckland on tbo 13th last., and atrthe branch agencies on receipt of advices.
