Commercial.
The amount of revenue received at the Customhouse on goods cleared for consumption this day was U. 604 4s 7d.
Mr Henry Driver (on behalf of the N.Z. and M.A. Co.) reports for the week ending July 5 as foilow;—
•Fat Catile, —165 head were yarded at market today, about two-thirds being good quality, the balance only in spare condition. There was a decided improvement in the price for prime quality, best bullocks bringing LlO to Ll4 7s 6d; do cows, L 3 to Lll 10s, or equal to at least 35s per lOOlbs. Wo sold 50 head at yards, and have placed 60 bullocks, on account of Mr Malcolm Carmichael, at above rates.
Fat Sheep.—l,7oo were penned, and all found buyers at a slight advance on late quotations. Best cross-brads brought from 13s to 17s 6d, merinos, 7s tid to 10s 9d, or equal to 3d per lb for former, and 2jd for latter.
Store Cattle.—There is still an inquiry for well grown cattle, and a few lofs are changing hands; at lor prime bullocks, L 7 toLSIOs; do cows, L 4 10s to L 6 ; mixed herds are worth from L 4 10s,
Store Sheep.—No business to report,
