The general business of the week has been mnoh interfered with by the broken weather of the last three days, and consequently the week's transactions have been in some degree limited. Becent advices have caused still further firmness in brandy, and importers hold to prices still more firmly on account of the state of stocks. Cose particularly is somewhat scarce, and Hennessy's commands Sis Cd; bulk. 7s fid to Bs. Stout is in demand; Blood's goes off freely at 11s 6d; Guinness's, 11s 9d tolfis ; gig brand, 18s to 12s Sd. Dried fruits are very firm, urrants to land have been sold at 4Jd, but this may be considered somewhat under tike, current price, as most holders ask 4sd. Although the market is lightly stocked with sugars, no change of price can oe quoted, as the demand has been more than usually light. Colonial produce, so far as oats are concerned, has been active, large parcels having changed hands, chiefly for export, at Is fid. In dairy produce, butter comes in freely and realises Is 4d for Provincial. Cheese of good quality, lOd. Markets heavily stocked. LABOB MAEKET. Mr Skene reports that out-door labor is at a complete standstill. Couples are quiet. The demand is as brisk as ever for female servants. The building trade is at a standstill. Shopmen and clerks are in small demand, trade being quiet with the bad roods in town and country. Wages maids, waiters, cooks, laundresses, Ac., from 15s to 30s per week; ploughmen, L 55 and LOO ; shepherds, L 63, L 65, and L7O; couples, LOO and L7O; dairy and station hands, 15s and 20s; carpenters, 10s to 14s; day labor and bushmen, 7s to 10s; shopmen and clerks, SOs .o 50s ; beys and girls, 6s to 10s; station cooks, 20s and upwards.
