CHRISTIAN BROTHERS' ART UNION.
To the Editor.
Sir, —In your last evening's issue a person signing himself "H.," informs you that he was the purchaser of a ticket in connection with the above, and seems to be very anxious to ascertain when the affair will come off. I happen to know yonr correspondent, who characterises the art union as unfortunate, and, as he is well aware, could hare given him any information as to when the drawing was to take place. It seems that he regrets investing the sixpence it oost him, and has on several occasions been in want of such a sum for another purpose, which I need not name. However, if he will call on me I shall be glad to repurchase his ticket at an advance on what he paid for it. While on the subject I may state for the information of the public, who have liberally supported this "unfortunate affair," that all arrangements have been completed, and that the drawing will take place on Friday, June 30, at 7.30 p.m., in the lower hall of the Athenaeum. Hoping that thfo will prove satisfactory to your anxious sixpenny speculator.—lam, &c, ' J. J. Connor. Dunedin, June 21.
