VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The Eaßt Taieri Rifles fired on Saturday last for the silver cup presented by Mr Allan, of Hope Hill, ex-captain of the corps. Sub-Lieut. Christie was highest, with the magnificent score of 76 out of a possible 80. This handsome prize is now retained by SabLieut. Christie, he won it for the sixth time on Saturday. The following are the names of those who have won it three times and upwards :—Corpl. Smith, five times; Lieut. Andrew and Vol. Rankin, four times each ; and Vol. Cameron, three times. The scores made on Saturday were as follows:
