RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, PORT CHALMERS.
Monday, Jvkk 19. (Before Dr O'Donoghue, J.P.)
Drunkenness.—-William C. Cobb and Thomas Griffin Green, charged with being drunk and disorderly in George street on Saturday night, were each ordered to pay a penalty of 10s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment; William Campbell was fined ss, with the usual alternative; Joseph Rennier, on remand, did not appear. Sergeant Morkane informed the Bench that accused was admitted to bail in the sum of L 5 to appear this morning. Dr. O'Donoghue stated that, had the accused appeared, he would have remanded him, in order that Mr Mansford might deal with the case. He would, however, make a note on the charge-sheet of Rennier's contempt of Court, in order that he might be dealt with for that offence when his case came on for hearing.
