The following are among the notices that appear on the Order Paper for Tuesday : That the Dunedin Municipal Act, 1876, be recommitted (1) for the purpose of reconsidering clauses 5 and 6 (Or. Leary) ; (2) for reconsidering clause 27, with a view to striking out the word "male" in the first line (Cr. Quick); and (3) for the purpose of considering the following proposed amendment : —That clause 27 as passed be amended by the omission of the word "male" therefrom, so that all ratepayers may exercise their privilege of electing their representatives without any disqualification by reason of sex (®r. Chapman); that the Legislative Committee be requested to frame a bye-law prohibiting smoking in cabs (Cr. Leary).
