NOTICES OF MAGAZINES.

ThA Young Ladies' Journal and Bow Belle far April, and The London Journal for March. J. Braith.waits, agent, corner of High street, Dunedin.

* The Young Ladies’Journal ’ gives some beautiful designs for lace and net tichus in quite new styles ; they are very pretty for evening wear, and will no doubt be fully appreciated by subscribers. The patterns for bonnets, jackets, caps, visiting, and ball toilettes are very recherchi The traced patterns are for a lady’s walkingjacket, a point lace cap, and monograms for marking linen. Two colored patterns for Berlin wool-work slippers, and the fashion-plate arejissued as usual. Numerous tales, essays, directions for fancywork, chess problems,, music, household receipts, acrostics, pussies, and tit-bits on almost any subject, will be found in this month’s number of ‘Bow Bells.’ A pretty colored fashion-plate, and a well executed little oleograph called “The Lady and the Dove,” are given with this number. The ‘London Journal’ has' the ladies’ supplement, with traced pattern of a very elaborate bodice suitable for evening dresses, and a good colored fashion sheet. The tales commenced in earlier numbers are continued. “ Minnie Moyne ” is finished, and a new tale called ‘‘The Golden Bondage,” by Mrs Hay Agnes Fleming- is begun. We cannot pretend to criticise any*} of the tales that appear in these' journals as time is not one ©f our sutplns commodities.
