The New Zealand Company’s ship Bakaia, with 81 saloon and 31 second-class passengers, and the following cargo :—1.611 bale* wool. 87 casks tallow, 6 bales leather, 21 bales skins, 14 bales sealskins, 6,612 sacks wheat, 200 cases preserved meats, 25 bags horns, 104 bags coal, 180 cases sundries, 102 tons manganese, and 3 boxes of gold (3,8900z5), of the total value of L 54,870, took her departure for London this morning, being towed clear of tho Heads by the tug Geelong. The Albion Company’s steamer Taiaroa, with eighteen passengers and cargo, arrived from Timam at six this motnmg, and steamed alongside the ship Wellington to discharge 408 sacks of grain and 19 easks tallow* She left Timarti at 6 p.m. yesterday, with alight N.y, wind, which shifted at midnight to a strong S.W. gale, which continued to arrival. The topsail schooner Wave of Life in beating up om the Heads yesterday took the ground in the oss channel. The Geelong proceeded down this morning, but owing to the Heavy S.W. gale the schooner was Unable to get her anchor.
