THE STAO Horn. Mr A. Bathgate called attention to an anonymous letter which had been received by Mr James KuH'ioli, the applicant for the above hotel, in which it was stated * that tho decision of the Bench had boan arrived at in consequence of an unsigned letter sent to one of the Licensing Commissioners, -The Chairman replied that none of the Commissioners would be influenced by an anonymous letter; it would be merely cast into the lire. tATE APPLICATIONS. On the applications of Win. Tho Act was quite specific and pip in. and the Clerk ought not to-receive applications nbt lodged within the time prescribed by the law. They Imd already decided that they could not consider applications not lodged in time; and were they to vary tliatmlingthey were doiugaway with the precedence established, and give a laxity prejudicial to the law. They regretted that they could not take those applications for licenses which had been late lodged into consideration. The applications were refused.
